Welcome to Halton Down Syndrome Association's (HDSA) Eighth Annual Halton Virtual Walk for Down Syndrome!
HDSA's Annual Halton Walk for Down Syndrome is going virtual on Saturday, June 20th, 2020! We encourage families, friends and community partners to walk with your immediate family members around your home, neighbourhood or yard to help us raise money and awareness for Down syndrome. Due to Covid-19, we ask that all of our participants abide by local physical distancing guidelines during the Walk. Here is information on physical distancing from the Government of Canada.
We are all working to empower individuals with Down syndrome to reach their full potential through all stages of life by being active, vibrant leaders in advocacy, awareness, education, and support within the Halton community. We hope you'll walk with us to support our mission on June 20th!
This year, all participants will register with their household for a single "Household Registration Donation" of only $21. This donation is tax-deductible.
WHAT IS A VIRTUAL WALK?
Because of Covid-19, we're encouraging participants to walk only with members of your immediate househould around your neighbourhood, home or yard and to abide by all physical distancing guidelines. The day will start with a Virtual Kick-Off at 10 AM, followed by a 21 minute walk, a variety of activities to take part in during the day, and a LIVE Virtual Celebration to wrap up the day at 4 PM. Please take lots of pictures and videos - we'll be requesting these from you to share during our celebration and as part of a wrap-up video!
